PTI10 and PTI15 Series
NOSHOK IO-Link
IO-Link Basics More
FAQs

Q: What's the difference between IO-Link's cyclic and acyclic data, and why does it matter for my instrumentation?

A: Cyclic process data is transmitted continuously each communication cycle -live measurement values, switching states, and device status. Acyclic service data is read or written on demand -things like configuration parameters, device identification, and diagnostic/event information.

For instrumentation like NOSHOK's PTI Series, this means your PLC gets real-time process values automatically, while setup parameters (ranges, units, switch points) can be pushed or pulled only when needed - reducing network traffic and simplifying commissioning.
